Vegan Bread

This recipe makes a delicious seeded loaf. It uses a breadmaker for the dough.


1lb 7oz plain strong flour
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
14oz water (10oz cold, 4oz warm)
1 packet (7g) dried yeast
1 tbsp sunflower seeds
2 tsp poppy seeds
soya milk
sesame seeds



Use all the ingredients except the soya milk and sesame seeds to make the dough, using the dough setting on your breadmaker.

Once the dough is ready, divide into two loaves and plait each in the usual way. Place the loaves on greased baking trays, brush with soya milk and sprinkle on sesame seeds. Leave to rise for 20 to 30 mins.

Bake at Gas Mark 6 for 20 to 25 mins until golden brown.
